What Simple Stunts Can I Perform With My RC Helicopter?

Before you do, though, you need to check a few things, particularly if you’re looking for a successful inverted flight. Your heli needs a collective pitch head. You’re good to go if you can make gravity move in the opposite direction though!

The reason we recommend this is because products with these pitch heads guarantee balanced head speed at all times. The whole setup allows pilots to generate maximum lift while the RC is inverted.

Can I Do Tricks Inside & Outside?

You can…outside will obviously carry more difficulty due to the weather. I would advise practicing tricks indoors with a decent RC Helicopter and then try outside. You will also need more power outside to combat the elements and have a degree of control. Size too matters as smaller pocket choppers will be much harder to get a grip of outside in any kind of wind.

RC Upside-Down Flight Test

Some helicopters can’t fly upside down. You’ll know if this is the case with yours if it moves or shakes in the opposite direction. If this happens, stop trying.  

Control type is important – any expert will tell you that. The elevator and radar should be set at a backward position, but the aerations’ position shouldn’t be changed.

The most difficult part about inverted flight is stopping and rolling the vehicle. This makes it possible to get the forward pressure easily. Don’t forget to make extra effort not on the backward, but on the forward pressure. By the way, the forward pressure needs to be balanced – neither too low nor too high. You have to give your controls more attention at this point.


Following the direction of the wind, try to move downwards. Don’t forget forward pressure will enable a fab flight loop, not to mention letting you fly at a normal rate. Always push the RC vehicle in the direction you want it to fly in if you have to pass through the radar process. Also, remember to roll out so you don’t crash. Even a pro pilot can feel overwhelmed sometimes.

Loops are easy to learn. Just don’t let your controls out of sight. You’ll need to use a collective or cyclic pitch for excellent looping experience. To move the vehicle up and down, use the negative and the positive pitch. Extra pressure on the elevator is needed when going through the loop process. You don’t need an antenna. It’s all about driving the RC helicopter towards the pilot, and then controlling the antenna. Keep the helicopter as straight as you can.

You need the same balance when it comes to rolling. It’s similar to looping, only here, you need to be extra careful to use the negative and positive pitches right. Flip the helicopter up with a positive pitch when it is going down. It is no different from a repetitive process flight. The idea here is to learn how the heli moves. You’ll experience a high throttle level, so always take care to fly the RC helicopter at a great distance from yourself. Your level of concentration will determine the outcome of these simple tricks, not your skill level. As mentioned, experienced pilots can crash if their concentration drops.

Again, turn full focus to the forward pressure control flight and avoid the pulling back motion. Also, never slow the helicopter down, because it might crash sooner than you think.
